A recent study published in JAMA Psychiatry, authored by M. Leone, R. Kuja-Halkola, A. Leval, B.M. D’Onofrio, H. Larsson, P. Lichtenstein, S.E. Bergen, has been highlighted in the media. Marica Leone, ESR in the CAPICE project presented her recent paper on Health Report, a radio program on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation ABC Radio National, on February 1, 2021. Previously, the study was mentioned by The New York Times, and Karolinska Institutet publlished a press release to underline the results of this work.
This study, "Association of Youth Depression With Subsequent Somatic Diseases and Premature Death", represents an important work that brings awareness to the issue of youth depression and the burden of this disease.

The 8th workshop of the CAPICE project on “Career Development (Academic and Industry)” was held in a virtual way on May 28-29, 2020, through the online Zoom Meeting platform and. It was organized by Prof. Marjo-Riitta Jarvelin and Dr. Saranya Palaniswamy from Imperial College London. Informative lectures took place and ESRs received info on the work lifestyle of both academia and industry, and the workshop also focused on best practices to write a fundable research proposal.

The CAPICE project endorsed the joint event "40th Congress UMEMPS / 15th International Workshop on Neonatology", Cagliari, Italy, October 24-26, 2019. The 40th Congress UMEMPS (previously held only once in Italy) had more than 700 participants and was accompanied by several national and international institutions and scientific societies. On Saturday, October 26th, a Congress session has been dedicated to a Meeting on Neurology and Psychopathology in collaboration with SI-DOHaD (Italian Society Developmental Origins of Health and Disease), where the CAPICE project findings and forthcoming steps were presented.

In August 2018, Elis Haan and Laura Schellhas had a great opportunity to be part of the Green Man Festival in Wales, UK. One of the areas of the festival is called Einstein’s Garden, which brings scientific research closer to the public. Researchers collaborate with artists to create a playful, interactive and colorful world that illustrates research work and encourages communication between scientists and festival attendees.
